Welcome 2015!

As we bid farewell to the blessed 2014. Let me thank everyone for being part of the year that was, for being a blessing to my life. Each encounter we had will be treasured. Thank you for all the love, support, laughters, and happy memories. I cannot count all the blessings I had this year.

Let us all welcome 2015 with an optimistic heart.Together we'll make another remarkable year. Pick each learning from the past, repeat good deeds and leave the mistakes. Spread love through forgiveness. There's so many blessings to look forward next year than hatred.
Whatever it is that we plan to do next year, something new or something good that we want to keep on doing let's always put GOD in the center of everything. Count every blessing and be a blessing!

Indeed, 2015 is MY YEAR!

Snackaroo. Steak sa Kanto

Who says steak need to be expensive? Who says you can only have a mouth watering steak at an expensive hotel?

Surely, most commercialised and expensive hotels can offer the finest steak, but can everyone afford it? Neither will I eat steak for just a simple dinner, not unless it's a celebration or a treat...

Now let me take you a place where T-bone steak is just like ordering adobo in a fast food or carinderia but of course delicious! :P

Taaahhhdaaann... presenting T-bone steak... You got to try what's the best they can offer right?

Freshly grilled T-bone. Marinated and tender. Served with a thick and sweet and salty steak gravy.

I Got Hairstyle 2014 | What I Wear | MarkMyName

Hair is your crowning glory... what a cliche. lol

Since I got my company laptop in early 2014 year, it became a habit to take selfie through the my webcam and if not I'll ask someone to take a photo of me.

Maybe it's true that Selfie is either a sin or a disorder. Sin because it triggers too much vanity and can distract the news feed of your friends when you try to use to much #Filter... Ehhemm I'm so proud I don't do much filter. As I say, I want the world to know my flaws wahahaha. #PaPublic lol.
And disorder because, It's as if you can't live a day or even a second without taking #Selfie.

So much more to that, yeah! I didn't realize that I had so many selfies when I started deleting my personal file in my old laptop. Ended up collecting all my photos and showcase the hairstyles I had for 2014. Here it goes.

The Mohawk. Well, It's semi because of course I still need to look corporate. I just remember the time when my hair was growing already and my boss got shocked on how high the mohawk was. wahahaha

KPop Craze and Happy Six Days

I never thought I'd fall in love in Korean cuisine, ever! Because I hate spicy food which limits me when I started to become foodie. Of course there's a conscious effort to improve that.. Until I went to Escriva drive, Ortigas Center Pasig just behind University of Asia and the Pacific.

The truth is, we had a project Goldloop building when we tried the restaurant just beside the on I am to feature. I have been here so many times and I can still remember my first visit.

It was the usual weekday boredom eat out invitation I made with Shiela, my former officemate to look for some place to eat. I invited her to a more classy Korean restaurant beside Happy Six Days. Unfortunately they are close after 9:00pm and fortunately Happy Six Days is open.
I am always a fan of this kind of interior. Not too intimidating and have the feel of authenticity. Well this is a improve version because this is already under new management. From the name Happy Six days which was frequently visited by some K-Pop artist now it's Soeul Korean restaurant

Good news is, they still have the same set of staff from attendant to cook. Same menu. Same great taste. wahahhaa

What's best about Korean restaurants, they are generous with appetizers and sides.

TakeMetoSG-- Novena Church

Sunday is Church day!

I just remember posting my photos at SG Novena Church. Surely, many Pinoys can relate to their visit on this chapel. It was said to be the one of the oldest Catholic church in Singapore and we were blessed to visit it before it gets renovated.

Very Pinoy indeed, as most of the church goers here are our beloved kababayans.

#Take Me To SG -- Majestic Bay

Probably the most expensive dine I had when I was in SG. The Majestic Bay is one of the Chinese/ Singaporean restaurants we tried at Gardens by the Bay.

Where's the concept of rustic and street-like restaurant? It's not in here hehehe. Fine dine baby!

Food though are authentic in terms of taste and worth sharing. hahaha

The place is perfect for view the bay area.

I immediately concluded that its a Chinese restaurant when I saw this aquarium. Looks familiar, Binondo? wahahaha I think this is common to every Chinese restaurant.

Dining starts with an appetizers. Dingdong! hahahah mix peas, crackers and chips with spicy paste/ dip.

The the high-tech ordering lol. Handheld menu is in a tablet hahaha

So here's the list of what we had during our stay.
 Xiao long Pao. One of my favorite dumplings. It's a steamed bun of pork with a soup inside. If I was able to describe it right.

Stir Fry Asparagus.

Roasted Chicken. See were always safe hahaha. Since some of us are afraid to try some SG food because they may not like the spicy touch we always order something safe like liston manok wahahaha.

and Chicken curry with mashed potato. This one I love! It's very different from how I am used to. From the presentation, to the blend of spices and the curry is so authentic.

Sometimes, good food are not about how expensive it is. More often its about the experiences and moments who had while dining. I must say this is kinda' really expensive, its around Php 4,000 if converted to Philippine pesos. Good thing its a treat from my cousin hahaha otherwise I will just look for some hotdog stand nearby hahhaha

If you will look at it that way (price) probably you will have to savor every bite or maybe you cannot even take a single bite.

Thank You ang Babait Ninyo

ABS-CBN Christmas Station ID 2014 "Thank You, Ang…:

When I first read the title of this year's Christmas station ID of ABS CBN I cannot resist but to remember the song I use to sing whenever we go to carolings when I was still a kid.

The new station ID notes 3 things as I go on listening.

First. The nostalgic happiness it brings while seeing the kids singing the melody. Christmas is for kids as they say. We adults are the tools to make this Christmas extra special for the kids. Making this season a celebration for everyone, kids, adults and kids at heart.

Second. "Thank You ang babait ninyo" reminding everyone to appreciate the things being given to us. Be it small or something life changing. It also reminds us to realize and put faith to the goodness of people. Sometimes we forgot that no matter how tough the world could be humans are naturally good.

Third. Christmas. Lord Jesus Christ's birth. Its a celebration of giving. A culmination of the year that is about to end. We all have been blessed that God's only begotten son will come. Thus, we must also be a blessing to everyone.

Have a Blessed, Merry Christmas everyone!

Wonders of Maginhawa -- Fruili Trattoria

Getting crazy about Italian dish? The wonderful Maginhawa Street at UP Teachers Village got a "Real" Italian restaurant at very reasonable (slash) affordable price.

One boring Friday night when my foodie friend Kiey, wanted to continue our Maginhawa adventure. Initially we wanted something light for dinner but we lost control when we decided we try Friuli. There's been buzz about it so we got curious.
A small restaurant offers authentic Italian dishes, mainly about pasta and pizza and some desserts...  Here's the store..
It's about 10-15 tables only including the upper deck of the building, so when it's peak time, you got to wait for a while... well I must say, It's worth the wait. lol
Since we wanted light and we are in an Italian "concept" restaurant, we had a non-meat dinner to both meet the objective of the trip hahahah.

We had Pizza Margherita. One of their best seller pizza, a combination of garlic and herbs, smothered with 2 layers of mozzarella topped with fresh tomatoes.

Margherita pizza is around 190 pesos only good for 3 to 4 person.

Then we had Angel's Hair Putanesca... We'll I never thought that putanesca sauce could be perfect for angel's hair pasta. The natural sweetness of the pasta blends well with the sour effect of the sauce. another must try DIY at home hahahaha.

The pasta is totally good for 2 at 140 pesos only!

It was not really a light dinner but I was glad the bill was light hahaha.

#TakeMetoSG-- The Real SG at Hawkers

Unlike other travelers who wanted to visit the major tourist spots, I always wanted to check on the normal streets of the places that I visit. I feel like there's always a different story that those streets will tell.

True enough, when I tried to visit Chong Pang City at Singapore (Hawkers)

I have already shared some of my Take Me To SG Diaries, some foodie stuffs and tourists things. The streets tell the real picture -- food, culture, living.

In all fairness, amongst other restaurant we visited, I enjoyed hawkers the most. It feels like a day will not be complete without me visiting it.
The whole set up is like Binondo, Chinatown. Hawkers are the carinderia or food court version of other countries. 
Only, each stall have different offering. Non of them offers the same food or product.
And since most of the residents of SG are different nationalities, most of their offerings come with a picture so it's easier to pick and order.

Freshly prepared food and the authenticity of the taste make it more exciting.
Prices in hawkers are reasonable.
First on the list, that I have tried was Laksa, its a popular Chinese- Malaysian noodle soup with coco milk and some seafoods. Really spicy, from the looks of it! wahahaha We requested to make it mild-spicy and yes they acknowledged our request but I think they need to revisit their description of "mild" hahahah
Then Thai style grouper. That's how it was written in their menu board. When I first read it, I thought its a group meal coming from the "grouper" description hahaha. But completely zero regrets we had this cause it really made the night smoking hot!
Then Chicken wings, It's just but an ordinary fried chicken wings but the marinate is totally tasty.
The Ultimate Yangzhou rice or what we call sinangag or Yang Chow in some Chinese resto. It doesn't have much garnish but its very rich in flavor.
I crave for century eggs that night so we bought home a rice porridge with lots of it and meatballs. I love the consistency of the rice and how it perfectly blend with the texture of the eggs.
Of course, the Dim sum fest, naahh! There's no such thing when we visited, but since we ordered so many dim sum, I think we can consider this as a fest! hahahha

Oyster Cake. Oysters and leaves mold in egg or commonly referred as omelet. hehehe
Stingray . Grilled stingray with chili on top partnered with radish.
Asado Siopao. I just wonder how it tastes differently but not mush to talk about. Still it feels so authentic.
and the craziest thing I have ever experienced in hawkers. The to-go packaging of drinks are plastic bags with string holder. The pick one, is a rose milk tea, which is super kakaiba ang lasa. well except for the idea that I am not so much fan of flower based tea but this one I like it! hahhaah

I was also surprise of the brown one, because that's the to-go version of coffee. hahahah Yes! it's weird that freshly brewed coffee blends are packed in plastics. hahhaa, but I must say I love the creamy blend :)
