PCPPI Free Vaccine to All Its Employees | PR Post | MarkMyName

PCPPI to provide free vaccines to all its employees joins the private sector in Dose of Hope initiative

Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines Inc. (PCPPI),—the exclusive manufacturer of PepsiCo beverages in the country—announced today that it will provide free COVID-19 vaccines to all its employees who will voluntarily receive them. The company purchased the vaccines as part of the tripartite agreement between the private sector, the government and vaccine manufacturers.

“Providing free vaccines is essential to a healthy and safe working environment at PCPPI.  The inoculation will be voluntary but we highly encourage everyone to be vaccinated. This is to show gratitude to our employees who have all worked hard during the pandemic,” said President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Frederick D. Ong.

The vaccination program is part of “Dose of Hope” initiative led by Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship Joey Concepcion. The program already purchased 17 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines from AstraZeneca. Set delivery date of vaccines for the company will be on the 3rd quarter of this year.

“PCPPI participated in the ‘Dose of Hope’ initiative for faster vaccine rollout. This is our way of supporting the private sector’s goal of reviving the economy and the government’s efforts in controlling covid,” Ong added.

PCPPI also held a virtual learning session on COVID-19 Vaccination for its employees. Dr. Iris Radev, MD from Ocean Medical Clinic in British Columbia, Canada, facilitated the online event.

With close to 300 attendees, the session aimed to encourage vaccination. "Our employees need to know the right information on COVID-19 vaccines. The benefits of inoculation definitely outweighs the risks and fears we have," added Vibes Cheong, Senior Vice President for Human Resources and Corporate Affairs.

PPCPI manufactures and sells well-known PepsiCo beverages brands such as Pepsi-Cola, Mountain Dew, 7-Up, Mirinda, Mug, Gatorade, Aquafina, Premier, Sting, Tropicana and Lipton.

Pork and French Beans Salted Egg | What’s Cooking | MarkMyName

If you’re bored with your usual stir fry veggies and fried meat. Try incorporating adding mashed salted egg as a coating to it. We tend to be easily intimidated with this restaurant sounding dish because it’s really hard to find groceries that sell salted egg powder. Anyways, there are alternatives or manual to do that but that would be a different recipe.

This recipe though, uses salted egg powder. And it’s very easy to do. No highfaluting techniques needed.

Here is how you do it:

Fry the pork.

We all have different recipes and means to fry pork and it’s okay. Just make sure it’s not super savory. Means that the flavors of the fried pork still has some room for other seasonings.

My simple way of frying the pork is marinating it with fish sauce and black pepper. Dusting it with a bit of flour or cornstarch and deep frying it until cooked and crisp. I once tried putting soy sauce but it doesn’t make the pork crispy.

Stir fry the veggies.
Literally, do it your way. No rules. If you like using butter, soy sauce or oyster sauce it is fine. Just make sure that the sauce is not too salty to give room for the salted egg. Also, make sure that there is no excess liquid into the veggies.

Salted egg.
There are brands available for salted egg powder but you can also make an alternative for this by mashing salted egg yolk or the whole egg. That could also work. Again, just be mindful of the salt.

Enjoy!

Minced Garlic in Olive Oil | What’s Cooking | MarkMyName

Although garlic have long shelf life, sometimes I find it hassle to peel off garlic everytime I cook. Here’s an easy way to store your garlic at home.

Apart from convenience, this also helps to bring out more aroma and flavor when used. Procedure:

- Peel off a bunch of garlic. There are so many hacks available to peel off garlic. Pounding the whole bulb is my favorite. No need to separate each clove. Just press the whole bulb hard and each clove will separate. It will also tear some part of its skin making it easier to peel.
- Soak the garlic with Oil. Although some recommend to use oils with no flavor. I prefer using Pomace Olive Oil. The tart flavor of the olives add to the garlic aroma. It doesn’t need to be soaked for long hours, we just need to make sure all cloves are covered with oil.
- Blend. Food processor is better but since I don’t have one, blender is okay. Blend it until all cloves are minced. Be careful not to completely ground the garlic like most mistakes I did.
- Store. You can put it a container with tight lid. Store it in the fridge. It would normally last for a month or two. Depending on your garlic consumption.

Where to use minced garlic in olive oil.
- Stir Fry and Sauté. Most Filipino dishes, cooking starts by sautéing garlic and onion. Use this instead of peeling cloves of garlic. So convenient. It also have a more depth of garlic flavor because it’s been sitting and releasing flavors in the oil.
- Aioli dressing. You may opt to put some garlic bits to your mayonnaise dressing for salad or burger or just use the oil. The oil has so much flavor in it already that it can also be used for other condiments.
- Chili Garlic. Most of our dipping sauce specially those spicy one have garlic on it to give an appetizing taste. You can use it on your regular hot sauce to give a new flavor. Or just add this to your usual soy and kalamansi dipping.
-Aglio Olio Pasta. Since I’m using Pomace Olive oil, I can just get a table spoon of this minced garlic and extend the oil with Extra Virgin Olive oil for my pasta sauce and add some meat or sausage.

What other recipes do you have in mind?
